The Stone Jetty Cafe

The stone JeTTY

The Stone Jetty, constructed in 1853 was originally built as a Wharf and rail terminal for passengers and cargo, it was built North Western Railways. It connected the rail network through the Northumberland Street station to the Irish Streamers, this stopped on the opening of Heysham Harbour.

The stone side of the Jetty was storm damaged in 1988 and it was re-decked, partly rebuilt and extended in the mid – late 1990s, the old Station building is now a grade II listed building and our Café. The Café has beautiful views across Morecambe Bay and weather permitting you can see the stunning backdrop.
